God called Abraham to bring Isaac to Him on the mountain. The man obeyed.
Real men do not just get blessings from God, but they get called to take risks. God blessed Abraham with a son (finally!). Then, He called the man to bring his only son up the mountain and give him back to God. This looked risky. To an unbeliever this would be a risk. For Abraham, it was not.
Risks are situations we put ourselves in when we do not know what the outcome will be. When you have faith in God, you know what the outcome will be. Abraham willingly obeyed God’s command which went against His own promise because He believed God would raise Isaac from the dead (Hebrews 11:17-19).
Real faith does not take risks. What looks to others as a risky, precarious situation is really a normal step in a walk with God. What humans call risk God calls boldness. It is not a risk because when we step forward into thin air, He takes us to the next level.
God taught me this when I decided to walk by faith in the ministry. What some thought was a stupid decision, I knew God could not let me down. He had promised to do His part if I would do mine. He has never failed me. Dangerous men are risk-takers. Believing men walk into the unknown at no risk because they walk by faith.
God called Abram righteous when he first believed (Genesis 15:6). However, He confirmed his promises to the man when he acted on his faith, saying “Now I know that you fear God” (Genesis 22:12). Too many men are afraid of peer pressure, lost income, or discomfort when God calls them to be great for Him. When you fear God you do not have to fear risks. You can only win when you follow Him, confident that He will do what He said He would do.
Eliminate your risks. Live the life God has called you to.
